New Setup — Boss RC-600 and Hologram Microcosm
Starting to dig into using the Boss RC-600 looper and Hologram Microcosm and also dusting off my electric guitar.
I’m starting work on a new setup today based around the Boss RC-600 looper and TC Helicon Blender mini mixer. I’m looking for something that will allow me to work easily with various acoustic and electronic sound sources and that I can leave set up in a “pedalboard” arrangement so that it’s quicker to get started.
I haven’t had the Boss RC600 looper for long and the menus are quite complex and confusing — so I need to use it a lot more.
You can have up to six loops which can be either independent or linked in many different ways of almost any length — it’s a very powerful looping tool.
A friend lent me the Hologram Microcosm and it is a wonderful pedal but I’ve only been using it for a few days.
So today was just learning to work with these two with the help of my Yamaha Pacifica guitar as a sound source, which was a mess when I first got it second hand. I’ve sorted it out somewhat but it could do with a professional set up and the knobs are very noisy — but that makes it a rich sound source for the looper and the Microcosm.
And hello Substack! You can find more details about WHIRRINGS over on the about page.
