My album Burrs is now up on some of the streaming sites as well as Bandcamp.
Tidal, Spotify, Deezer, and Amazon... for some reason it never appeared on Apple Music!
I don’t expect a lot from the streaming sites, it’s very unlikely my recordings will hit the minimum streams needed for any kind of payment these days, but it is another way for people to find and listen to my work.
From the liner notes (only Bandcamp has liner notes!):
Burrs is a collection of six electroacoustic contemplations. Live improvisations made with "intuitively" tuned acoustic guitar, violin bow and digital effects.
“Intuitively” simply means that I sat down with the guitar and tuned the strings to a chord that I liked. I have no idea whether they were notes or intervals from an established scale but they were tunings that sounded good together.
I then played the guitar with my violin bow and slowly built up live “drone” pieces using effects.
It was fun to work in such a simple way and I will definitely be exploring this more soon.
You can listen, download and buy Burrs from my Bandcamp page if you prefer…
Happy listening!
